Almost DONE!
As you can see, I have been super swamped with school and soccer and have been unable to write... Life this semester has been CRAZY, let me tell you. Soccer continued to get harder and harder as the weeks went on, and we are now in our second to last week. The soccer part is over, and now all we are doing is fitness and weight lifting. I have gained about 10-15 pounds of just muscle this semester, I am a beast! (Ha Ha) We are going to test next week to see how much we have accomplished over the course of this semester. I have a feeling that I am going to be extremely successful after such a hard and stressful semester! I will write back next week after all of our testing is done! Only TWO more weeks of school left, then just a few finals :)

Week 4!
Hello friends! It is now week four of our spring season and I am definitely feeling out workouts! They have been getting harder and longer which is definitely putting a toll on my body! I of course am still loving every minute of it because it is making me think about how all of this training is going to pay off this coming fall! When I am tired during practice I just think about next fall and get pumped and excited! Tomorrow is our day off so I am looking forward to relaxing, sleeping in, and focusing on my studies all day! We have practice this Saturday which should be pretty dreadful, so I will keep you posted oh how it goes. :) Happy Valentines Day to all and be safe!

Weeeeekend :)
Sorry it has been a few days since I have written, I have just been so busy with school and soccer! So Friday morning rolled around and we had a 6 am soccer practice! We did a little bit of testing in the long jump and some short sprints. We also ran a thing called the beep test which is a pretty rigorous test. After soccer I came home and rested until I had class at 11, then went to the library after for a couple hours to work on my online classes. I was pretty worn out so I had no problem going to be early! Waking up for a 9:30 practice on the other hand was pretty hard! We practiced at the DECC that morning which consisted on a pretty hard bike workout, along with a hard lift, and we ended the day by running up AND down every single stair located in the DECC. I have never been more happy to end a soccer practice... So now that brings me to today! Again, I woke up for my 6 am practice just like I do every other monday morning. We worked on some plyometrics and ran five sweet sixteens. If you don't know what those are, you run back and forth across the gym 16 times in under 65 seconds. It was extremely hard, but it's all going to be worth it next season! After our sweet sixteens we had a pretty lengthy lift. When I was finished I came home and napped, and then went off to school at 11 for a class and to then to the library. We have another 6 am practice tomorrow so you should look forward to another post coming soon! Go BULLDOGS!

Welcome!
Hello Everyone! My name is Mallory and I play soccer at the University of Minnesota Duluth! We are a D2 program and I figured it would be a fun idea to share information about the things we as D2 college athletes do and talk about what it is like to be an athlete while going to college! I hope all of you find this interesting because I am excited to write about this topic and think it is going to be a fun experience for me! Our team has Thursdays off (thank goodness!) so I will keep you posted on what is to come! Tomorrow we have a 6 am practice... (EKK!) So I will try and let you know how that goes!
